Kyoto Station

Kyoto Station is a sight to behold. The building itself is probably 10 stories tall with massive open spaces at least two department stores/malls a whole floor dedicated to ramen and a major hub for trains (It is a train station after all). We also went by on the one rainy day of our trip so this line of commuters riding this 6 story escalator (already 4 or so stories up) came through.
